Welcome to the British Bankers Club, a classic turn of the century bar and dining hall. American Trust and Savings first occupied the bank building built in 1922. Later it became Menlo Park's city hall, police department and jail, along with the public library upstairs.

In 1973 the entire structure was renovated, inside and out, including extensive sand blasting of the white painted brick exterior.

The saloon interiors include a magnificent mahogany triple arched Brunswick back bar (image to the right). Purchased in Roseburg, Oregon, it still sports its original finish including union labels reading Amalgamated Woodworkers of America.

Beside the back bar is an important stained glass window from Tiffany Studios depicting George the Dragon Slayer link opens in new window. It was originally installed in a Long Island mansion.

The large scale curved stained glass window featuring a tribute to Queen Lousie of the Netherlands link opens in new window was installed over the foyer in 1989 following its purchase at the "World's Largest Architectural Auction on Earth" in Los Angeles, California.

The Tiffany Studios Lamps, Handel, Daum, and other art glass lamps of the same period come from an extensive private collection and are changed around several times a year. Eventually they all spend some quality time here. All Tiffany pieces have been authenticated by the foremost authority on the subject, Egon Neustadt.

The largest chandelier in the BBC is solid bronze and weighs over 1600 pounds. It hails from the Philadelphia Opera House.

The handsome pair of bronze lighting fixtures outside the main entrance were originally from the 10th Street Post Office in Cincinnati, Ohio, and the two bronze wall fixtures at the northeast plaza entrance came from a St. Louis bank building.

The upstairs bar link opens in new window came from the White Horse Inn in Devonshire, England.
